Some of South Africa’s most talented young dancers will ignite the Artscape stage early this July when they perform in Jazzart Dance Theatre’s annual celebration of dance, Danscape from 7 - 10 July 2011.
The highly acclaimed iKapa Dance Theatre presents FUSE, a creation originally performed in collaboration with New York’s Steps Ensemble in 2010. This production offers four different interpretations of the theme of Peace & Reconciliation from two top Cape Town based companies and displays their diversity of dance styles as well as their intense technical and artistic abilities. 21 - 22 May 2011.
At each performance iKapa’s dancers will present works from the extensive and varied iKapa repertoire, including neo-classical, contemporary and African dance, all highlighting the company’s versatility and technical skills.
Fuse will conclude with a premiere of a new work by Theo Ndindwa and Tanya Arshamian (iKapa’s directors) performed collaboratively by members of iKapa and the Ensemble.
